Catalyst Heating is an engine management routine that activates during cold starts. It deliberately alters ignition timing, injects extra fuel, and increases idle speed to rapidly heat the factory catalytic converter so it can quickly reach peak emissions-filtering efficiency. While necessary for factory emissions compliance, this routine becomes completely useless if you upgrade to a catless downpipe or a high-flow performance catalytic converter. Leaving the heating cycle active with an aftermarket exhaust results in an obnoxiously loud, raspy, and rough-sounding cold start, alongside unnecessary fuel consumption and potential dashboard warning lights. We offers a simple, one-click software solution (often labeled as the Cold Start Noise Reduction Module) to permanently disable this heating cycle. This update ensures the engine drops immediately to a smooth, natural, and quieter idle on startup while suppressing any related error codes.
